February 11, 2024 - More than 60 attendees, including members, family, and friends, gathered at our Lodge for the Annual Superbowl party. The event was dedicated to watching the Chiefs face off against the 49ers in an exciting football game that concluded in overtime with the Chiefs winning Superbowl LVIII 25-22.
A delightful spread of pulled pork, seasoned chicken, fish, Greek potatoes, Greek salad, and various appetizers, was prepared by brother masterchefs Ted Papafil, Mike Griffith, and Steve Webb. Numerous raffles were distributed, contributing to the overall festivities. Special thanks to the event's Chairmen, Paul Angelson and Perry Rempas, for ensuring a fantastic time for everyone.
January 3, 2024 - In our January meeting, we began the year with our customary Chapter Vasilopita celebration.
Ted Zarpas, one of our new members, was fortunate enough to receive the vasilopita coin, alongside his proud father, Mike. The Zarpas family can anticipate blessings for the New Year ahead.
December 8, 2023 - We held our Annual Christmas Dinner, extending a warm welcome to brothers and their families. The dinner provided us with a chance to honor and award six veteran brothers with their AHEPA Veterans medal.
November 25, 2023 - We hosted a vibrant Greek Dance with live music performed by Apollonia. The highlight of the evening was a dazzling dance exhibition presented by our talented youth dancers. The event was a memorable experience, fostering a deeper appreciation for our cultural heritage.
November 21, 2023 - Our Chapter held its Annual Thanksgiving Luncheon for seniors of our community. Everyone came with an appetite and enjoyed the fellowship and the traditional Thanksgiving fixings.
November 12, 2023 - Our Annual "Andrew Neskis" Tavli Championship & Luncheon was held at our Lodge. Over 15 players competed and a new winner, Demitri Pramatea, dethroning the running champ.
October 29, 2023 - We hosted the OXI Day Luncheon at our Cathedral's Hellenic Center by preparing and serving lunch for 170 of our Hellenic NATO officers and parishioners of our church.
October 28, 2023 - We hosted our Annual Greek Oyster Roast on a perfect weather day. This year we partnered with Equi-Kids and donated $4,000 to the organization, to assist children and adults with special abilities.
July 23-29, 2023 - The 101st AHEPA Family Supreme Convention, took place in Las Vegas, NV at the Paris and Horseshoe Hotels. District 3 was well represented with over 20 members.
July 15, 2023 - Members and their families enjoyed a wonderful time at a Tides Baseball game, accompanied by the Brothers from Newport News Chapter 241.
June 21, 2023 - The Chapter awarded a total of $12,500 in Educational Scholarships to seven outstanding young adults. The award ceremony was not just a moment of financial support but also a celebration of academic excellence and achievements.
June 17, 2023 - Members and the general public took part at our inaugural Car Show, held outside our lodge. Attendees were treated to not only a stunning display of diverse car models but also indulged in a delightful array of Greek cuisine.
June 3, 2023 - We hosted our Annual Educational Golf Tournament at Ocean View Golf Course. The proceeds will fund $9,000 in 2024 Scholarships. Afterwards, we gathered at the Lodge for the much-anticipated Greek dinner and the awards ceremony.
June 2-4, 2023 - The 92nd Annual 2023 District 3 Convention took place at the exquisite Princess Royale Hotel in Ocean City, Maryland. The convention brought together members from various chapters, fostering a sense of unity.
